Private Landowners
Since 2006 we have provided professional forest management advice and assistance to private
landowners on over 40 properties in Colorado and New Mexico. We have prepared Forest
Management Plans, marked trees for harvest, done post-wildfire damage assessments,
prepared timber sale contracts, and conducted slash pile burns.
Corporate
We have conducted forest inventories and prepared forest management plans for several large
corporate entities:

Community
We have prepared Community Wildfire Protection Plans for over a dozen subdivisions and
Community Associations in Southwest Colorado. In that capacity we worked with the residents,
County governments, local Fire Protection Districts, the Colorado State Forest Service, the USDA
Forest Service and the USDI Bureau of Land Management in building the CWPP’s.
Government
Short Forestry LLC works closely with the Colorado State Forest Service, the USDA Forest
Service, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, USDI Bureau of Land Management,
USDI Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and the Southern Ute Tribe as well as
County governments in developing management plans, wildfire mitigation projects and
cooperative ventures with private landowners.
Non-Governmental Organizations
Short Forestry is active with Firewise USA ™, Wildfire Adapted Partners, and the Dolores
Watershed Resilient Forest Collaborative. Mr. Short is a Certified Forester, a member of the
Society of American Foresters, and a member of the Association of Consulting Foresters.
